Thingy-02

You let one of these Thingys out of your sight for five seconds and the next thing you know they have  multiplied!  Well, not really, but Thingy 01, who we have been calling Lint Bunny, introduced me to a bigger fancier Thingy.  We call it Diddy-Daddy, since we imagine it to be Lint Bunny's daddy, although there's no real evidence.  The Thingys (the ones we have seen so far, at least) have no outward signs of gender that are detectable by human eyes so I call them by male pronouns. This subject is still up for debate.

Isn't he pretty?

He is quite a pleasant and laid back thingy.
Only small bits of knowledge have been accumulated by this latest specimen but, the research is on going.

Follow the leader.

They seem to play games together.  In general, their movements around the room, once captured, are very slow.

What is that?

I found this . . . thingy in my room.

Behind a copy of Webster's Dictionary - Unabridged, this strange creature was hiding in the shadows.  I thought it would disappear quickly as has happened before so I snapped a quick photo to document my sighting.
Dazzled by the flash, he stared back at me with beady red eyes.  You know, I think this Thingy is only a baby?  It's sort of cute.
I left A few crayon stubs and a stray Barbie shoe for him since I have noticed that they seem to like that sort of stuff.  I waited to see if he could be lured out by A snack.

This photo was taken later, after he got a little more used to me.  I tied a ribbon around his tail.  It is said that  if you tie a ribbon around their tail they can't get away.  It makes them too heavy to float away and disappear into the shadows.  Maybe it's true?  Or, he just doesn't have anywhere better to go.
I had better hurry and find him some more food before he eats the heels out of all my socks, they have been known to do that when they get cranky.
If this one is a baby, does that mean there are more around?

Latest Obsession!

The latest item on my ever expanding gimme gimme gotta have it list is The Art Hustle trading cards.  Check out the official website here: http://thearthustle.com/

They are trading cards done in traditional style wax packs .  Only the subject matter is a little different from the Sports (or in my case X-men, yeah, I that kind of uber nerd) trading cards you might remember from childhood.  The cards are all modern artists!  The kind that do graffiti, draw graphic novels, and design the next best toys for us grown up collectors.  Most of the cards are either profile portrait cards of the artists or images of selected artworks from the various artists.  There are also special inserts that are signed, error cards, even original artwork (ratio of original artwork is two pieces per 36 packs).

The third series is set to come out soon and I really really want some.  Could you tell?  Check out the website to see the line up of artists that will be included.  Junko Mizuno  Yeah, that's right, that's all you need to know.

If you hunt around online you can still find some Series 2 card packs for sale so, check that out.  Toy Break opened a case of series 2 on You tube and they got a Camilla d'Errico sketch card.  I'm so jealous right now.

Piggies and Peppers

Here is a sketch I drew in honor of the new blog.  Combining two of my favorite things in one.  Any pointers on what kind of pens I should be using to make inking easier/better would be appreciated!  It so difficult.
I'm not a child, I just draw like one.

I could really go for a stuffed pepper right now.  Mmmm . . .

Hello in there

This is the first post.  Let me try to put a picture in, just for practice:

I like this picture I took.  They were the most beautiful green red-veined apples I had ever seen!  And there's a little surprise in there, see it?
